Roger began enjoying and playing music at the age of 10 in Southern California where he was born and raised.  His song writing has been very influential ed by the music of The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, Moody Blues to name a few.  He wrote his first song when we was 11 years old which started a path for him of creating songs.  He wrote his first song when he was 16 years old.

Starting in 1990s Roger formed a couple of different bands in the Denver area.  The first of such bands was known as Us and performed all original music written by Roger.  Westword magazine wrote a very favorable review about the first release called Us, In This Place comparing the group to Airport Convention.

Rogers next group was known as Drienka which consisted of several area musicians including his wife Lori and daughter Aubrey.  This group released the Dreams CD in 2008 featuring some of Denver's premiere musicians including Park Peters, Susan Phelan and Brian Mikulich.
